Quality Education for All - A Path to the Better World.
28.6. -29.6. 2025 – Slovakia, Čierna Voda near Bratislava
On the weekend of June 28th - 29th an international group of women, men and young people met in Slovakia, in a village Čierna Voda, outside Bratislava for a conference with the topic:
QUALITY EDUCATION FOR ALL
The driving force behind the idea to organize such a conference was the vision and emphasis that good education is important to build a better world together. Quality Education is at the same time one of the UN SDGs goals – the goal No. 4 as a part of Agenda 2030 to be fulfilled till 2030. With this conference we would like to contribute to the UN discussion on education.
There were 83 participants from Austria, Hungary, Slovakia and Czech, but they originated in 19 different nations all around the world. The age range of attendees and the 21 speakers was from 15 to 80+ years old.
The main topics of the conference were:
Education for Peace, Character Education and Environmental Education.
This conference was co-organised by WFWP Slovakia, Austria and Hungary and other NGO´s - Allatra, Creative Society, Filipino Diaspora in Europe - ENFiD and IAYSP – International Association of Youth and Students for Peace.
There were varietes of presenters, experts in their fields of education, psychology, medicine, chairs of UN organisations such as the Committee on Peace in Vienna and UN Women in Geneva and also general public activists and volunteers in the field of environment.
Quite extraordinary were the presentations of two teams of highschool students about SDG4- Quality Education and SDG6 – Pure Water and Sanitation. They also shared about their project Gems of Water, which they participated in with the International Commission for the Protection of Danube River (ICPDR) in Joint Danube Survey.
Here is the testimony of one of the students after the conference:
„Participating in this conference as a 15-year-old girl was a great honour and an inspiring experience. It opened my eyes to the world of social politics and made me consider studying it after the high school. The conference gave me a new perspective and introduced me to opportunities I didn’t even know they existed. I’m truly grateful for the chance to be part of it.“

In the evening the 33yrs Anniversary of WFWP was celebrated with beautiful cakes and samples of Slovak folksongs, presented by WFWP Slovakia members and also a piece on the flute was played by Kristina Čorejová – one of the students. Lively talks and networking filled the evening.
Sunday started early with Medical Chigong, introduced by our friend Dr. Zhu, originally from China. Then we had an excursion to the nearby Castle ´Červený Kameň´(Red Stone). A place that connects the history of our three countries until 1945. Slovakia was a part of Austro - Hungarian Empire from the year 1867 until 1918. Before it was a part of the Habsburg Monarchy. So it is a good time to start history anew, with friendship and cooperation, building a nucleus for a wider range of countries to unite and work together!
After the excursion we were taken to a small town named Saint Jur for lunch and then everyone made sure that we reach our buses and trains and planes that brought us back home.
The conference is over but friendships and partnerships among different NGOs and individuals continues...we already have plans for the future cooperation. To bring a change in our world through quality education, we need to involve and inspire more young people, conscious men and women, parents, dedicated educators, governments and responsible leaders of society. This task is still ahead of us.

At the end some more testimonies from the youngest participants:
“For me, as a 17 year old girl, this conference was one of the most educational events I have ever attended. It was a beautiful experience to meet new people from all around the world, learn from them and consult with them so many important topics. I think it is really important for our younger generation to get educated in such as important topics as international cooperation, and therefore I am very grateful for the opportunity to be part of this project.”
Enya Pastorová (17), Spojená škola Pankúchova, Bratislava
“This conference was truly an amazing opportunity for me as a 16 year old to share and learn something new about our environment, peace, education and also presenting. The atmosphere was welcoming and despite my age and lack of experience I felt like I was listened to. It made me step outside my comfort zone and challenge myself which leveled up my skills for the future. Everybody was very kind and supportive. I’m very grateful I could participate in this event.
Katarína Obuchová (16), Spojená škola Pankúchova, Bratislava
“"It was truly inspiring to see so many different people from all over the world trying to achieve the same goal, but through very different means. Anyone's contribution, even a small one, can make the world a little better. And when everyone's efforts add up, the world can become a better place to live."
Dominik Dovčík (16), Spojená škola Pankúchova, Bratislava
“This conference was a great experience for me, I met many people who are experts in their professions and I expanded my knowledge in many areas. While making my presentation, I realized how special it is to be at such an event and I appreciate it even more because of it.”
Veronika Vaňová (15), Spojená škola Pankúchova, Bratislava
“ I enjoyed listening to different perspectives of people attending the conference. It's great that everyone was able to contribute in their own unique profound way.
The biggest takeaway for me is that collaboration across age groups is possible and plays critical role in achieving positive change in the world.”
